About Us
The Greater St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame was founded in 1973 to honor those players, coaches, and contributors who have helped amateur baseball flourish in the Gateway City. The ABHOF embodies the roots of baseball in the St. Louis area and recognizes those individuals who have been active in promoting the game in its most pure form.
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to singling out outstanding individuals for their meritorious contributions to the game of baseball. The organization has inducted nearly 800 individuals who have contributed to the growth of baseball in and around the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.
In addition to annually inducting players, coaches, contributors and umpires, the ABHOF, wishing to spread recognition to an even wider playing field, honors individuals with the following awards:
The Rising Star Award, established in 1995, honors outstanding area high school baseball players and their coaches.
The Bob Broeg Award, established In 2001, to recognize one individual annually for coaching excellence in local high school baseball.
The Bob Burnes Lifetime Achievement Award, established in 2004, honors a St. Louis area resident who made it to some level of professional baseball.
The Jack Buck Media Award, established in 2012, is presented to a distinguished member of the St. Louis media who has promoted, reported, broadcast, and/or provided analysis and/or play-by-play about the game of baseball in a professional manner over a period of time.
The Greater St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame Legacy Award, established by the board of directors in 2018, honors and recognizes those organizations, teams or individuals who have inspired generations of players, coaches, umpires and fans at all levels to enjoy, support and perpetuate the game of baseball.
